Mujeres in Action (MiA) is a Spokane-based nonprofit providing services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, founded to close service gaps for immigrant survivors with limited English proficiency. Its framework centers trauma-informed, culturally competent services. Comunidad y Acción, MiA's government-relations wing, collaborates with partners and agencies and advocates for policies benefiting all survivors. This intern helps create materials for two projects: roll-call training materials for the Spokane Police Department and a Spanish translation of the Spokane Voter's Pamphlet. Software is provided.

What you'll do

  • Help design roll-call (short) training presentations for the Spokane Police Department on trauma-informed, culturally competent service delivery
  • Collect relevant literature to update materials as needed
  • Gather feedback and suggest edits for future roll calls
  • Assist with translating and formatting a Spanish-language Spokane Voter's Pamphlet
