Project focus: gain hands-on experience in nonprofit administration while helping CCW strengthen internal systems, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational effectiveness. This role offers exposure to the behind-the-scenes functions that let a nonprofit fulfill its mission and serve the community. Deliverables include process maps and documentation, improved systems, SOPs and templates, efficiency recommendations, a completed improvement project, and a final report or presentation.

Mujeres in Action (MiA) is a Spokane-based nonprofit providing services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, founded to close service gaps for immigrant survivors with limited English proficiency. Its framework centers trauma-informed, culturally competent services. Comunidad y Acción, MiA's government-relations wing, collaborates with partners and agencies and advocates for policies benefiting all survivors. This intern helps create materials for two projects: roll-call training materials for the Spokane Police Department and a Spanish translation of the Spokane Voter's Pamphlet. Software is provided.

The intern will create educational, story-driven video content designed to increase community understanding, volunteer engagement, and donor support. Transitions' work with Women's Hearth, supportive housing, and New Leaf Cafe provides powerful stories of the challenges participants face and the opportunities for hope, stability, and self-sufficiency. Materials can be repurposed for fundraising, volunteer recruitment, advocacy, and community presentations well beyond the six-week internship.
